Caesarea
Caesarea is one of our favorite places in the entire world. The city and harbor were built during Herod the Great reign near the site of a former Phoenician naval station known as Stratonos pyrgos. It is the largest artificial harbour built during antiquity in the open sea.
A must see for any visitor to Israel!
A Caesarea visitor will find a Roman Bathhouse, theatre, a Ben Hur style chariot race track, 2,000 year old Roman aqueduct, a Minaret of the 19th-century Bosnian mosque, and a amazing shell covered beach.
